Editing Hijab/Her (2020)

This work is a correction of my earlier work Hijab/Her (2012). It is an attempt at identifying the limits of image as tool of representation as images of Muslim women undergo certain processes of visualisation that brings about more harm that good, despite intentions. This is thus a response to my younger vision and position of using photography as voice, with annotation as tool of correction..

  • Using images from the Hijab/Her (2012) series, annotations are made to document my corrections and confessions onto image.

  • Complicit (2020) is a response through annotation as visual. Email me for text.
